One says she combines an exuberant flare with youthful frankness – fresh to the Berlin folk scene, the singer-songwriter Marla processes lost love in her music with with delicate, country-tinged fingerpicking on her guitar. From mellow dreamy melodies combined with a husky, deep voice to a sloppy strum with one too many chord changes – her songs find a way of speaking to you! With her acoustic guitar and the love for folk music, Marla toured half of Europe and the vastness of Canada at the age of 20, where she met her future duo partner David Celia while producing her debut album “Madawaska Valley” (2016, Melting Pot Music). With her first single “In The Wind” she quickly had over 1 million plays on Spotify. As „Marla & David Celia“, they released two albums and played over 1000 shows in 7 years, impressing large audiences at the iconic Glastonbury Festival and supporting Kiefer Sutherland on two tours through Germany. Her songs, classic and simple, get under your skin in a way you wouldn't have expected at first. The mix of her surprisingly honest self-reflection and yet such positive attitude makes it difficult to attribute the tears to laughter or tears. In October 2024 she’ll be recording her sophomore album with the producer & musician Robert Francis, who inspired her to become a songwriter at her tender age of 14 years. A full circe and her debut album with the new artist name to be released November 7th 2025!
