Hailing from Oakland, CA, brothers Zack and Josh started Poser as an acoustic folk duo in 2014, but have since evolved the band into a three-piece indie-rock band that lives in the space between high-energy arena pop-punk and vulnerable singer-songwriters. Described as a mix between Elliot Smith and Joyce Manor, Poser writes dynamic songs that can blow your hair back with a wall of sound, fuller than what it seems their three members should be capable of, that then seamlessly transitions into contemplative meditation harkening back to their folk roots. Beyond their musical endeavors, Poser operates as a force for social change, donating profits to local causes and social justice organizations. They organize benefit concerts, produce cover compilations, and partner with nonprofits; raising thousands of dollars for organizations such as the Alameda County Community Food Bank, West Oakland Punks with Lunch, the LGBTQ Freedom Fund, and many more.
Poser has performed in Sofar East Bay and Sofar San Francisco.
