Robyn Smith, a singer-songwriter from Dunfermline, Scotland, draws her inspiration from folk and country music. Her sound is rooted in Americana, with honeyed vocals often compared to artists like Alison Krauss and Shania Twain. Early influences like Dolly Parton, traditional folk melodies, and 70s rock have shaped her musical style. In 2021, she released her debut EP, Open Eyes, which received notable airplay on BBC Radio Scotland’s Iain Anderson Show and Another Country with Ricky Ross. Following this success, Robyn's latest EP, Muse, was celebrated at her sold out launch at Edinburgh’s renowned venue, The Voodoo Rooms, in June, captivating both new listeners and dedicated fans. Robyn describes writing Annie, her new single, as a “once in a blue moon” experience. Sitting at her late grandmother’s piano, the song came to life in just 20 minutes, capturing the essence of a woman determined to start a new life. With themes of resilience, strength, and hope, Annie resonates deeply with anyone facing hard times.
