Mayila

Currently residing in Washington, D.C., Mayila Jones, a native of Columbus, Ohio has always been a musical force to be reckoned with. Having a broad spectrum of musical interests, Mayila has decided to model her latest project after this. Her first EP, titled “Box of Chocolate” will demonstrate Mayila’s knack for songwriting and versatility. “There’s a song for every kind of listener. I’d like to classify it as the Other genre because I tried a little bit of everything.” Being from such a small town, Mayila has made it her mission to attain her big city dreams of becoming a worldwide entertainer and is well on her way. Mayila has been dancing since before she could walk and her voice was discovered at the ripe age of seven years old. “Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.” It’s difficult to discern which of these apply, but she has always had a great desire to leave an important mark on the world. A family member shared with us that at seven years old, Mayila expressed her aspiration to have her name in the history books she was reading at school. Only time will tell.
