Lester Rey strips down familial Caribbean rhythms and combines them with the sounds observed in his upbringing as a Chicago kid. In 2019, NPR World Cafe listed Lester Rey on "Latin Roots: The Best Alternative Songs Of 2019" and Chicago's very own Vocalo 91.1FM, listed Lester Rey on “Live from Studio 10: Our 20 Favorite Performances of the Decade.” In 2020, Lester Rey released a collaborative EP with Nino Augustine called “De Paseo a la Luna” and in 2021 a collaborative EP with MoonDoctoR called CCFX (Chicago Caribbean FX) both on the Austin, TX based record label Discos Peligrosa. Kicking off summer with a proper celebration of the EP CCFX with a party aptly named after the single Juketeo, "Juketeo on Michigan Ave" was a launch and comeback after the pandemic for Lester Rey and the band ushering a summer of Black and Brown joy!
Lester Rey has performed in Sofar Chicago.
