A legendary musician, one of the greatest singers of all time, and the unrivaled \u201cQueen of Soul\u201d, Franklin\u2019s impact on music goes beyond words.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the years since her passing, her former home in Detroit, Michigan, was bought and renovated, and we were lucky to host a special \u201cDiva\u2019s Night\u201d Sofar here back in July as a tribute to the late great Franklin.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The show sold out in 3 hours, with folks eager to visit the home and catch an unforgettable evening of music on the patio just outside the historic <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/roseestatedetroit\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rose Estate<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was an honor for us and our <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sofarsounds.com\/cities\/detroit\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sofar Detroit<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> team to be among the first to bring music back into the storied walls of the house. Special shoutout to Kindra Parker for all her hard work putting this show together!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check out the breathtaking performances of these modern-age divas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alise King | \u201cLife\u201d<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/alisekingmusic\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alise King<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> once opened for Aretha Franklin, so it\u2019s no wonder she would be a perfect fit for this show. The singer performed her song \u201cLife\u201d, a powerful anthem on the difficulties of life on earth and the social issues we still face today, including segregation, famine, and disease. Hayden<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> grew up in a musical family who likely had plenty of Aretha Franklin\u2019s music playing in the house.
