It\u2019s the garden where it all started. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sofarsounds.com\/blog\/articles\/beloved-spaces-2023\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s a beloved space in the global Sofar community<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. They\u2019ve since been sold and are now used for performances. Of the original 32 towers, just one \u2013\u00a0Tower 20 \u2013 is in use by a theater NGO called <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/turm20.theate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Turm 20 Theater<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Turm 20 usually hosts Shakespeare plays, flamenco shows, and tango evenings, and this summer was the first time the inside of the tower was used for shows. Due to the towers not having electricity, most of the artists performed unplugged.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The show featured local Linz hip hop artist <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/u.aexa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mrs Seriouz<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Vinna-based indie rock <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/ernstdieband\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ernst die Band<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and folk musician <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/jakobsteinkellner\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jakob Steinkellner<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who plays the Steirische Harmonika \u2013 a type of accordion used in the alpine folk music of the region.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3476\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3476\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-3476\" src=\"https:\/\/sofar-sounds-blog.imgix.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024-06_SofarSounds-Turm20-9065.jpg?crop=faces%2Centropy&fit=scale&fm=pjpg&h=683&ixlib=php-3.3.1&w=1024&wpsize=large\" alt=\"Mrs. Seriouz performs at Turm 20, in Linz, Austria. Image credit: Nora Forsthuber, @norafhuber<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Outdoor venues in the Americas<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Canc\u00fan catamaran (Canc\u00fan, Mexico)<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OK, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sofarsounds.com\/blog\/articles\/memorable-sofar-performances-2023\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">we\u2019ve featured this catamaran once before<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but it\u2019s just too cool to leave out of this outdoor venue list. Can you imagine seeing some live music a few miles offshore? This group of lucky concertgoers got the treat of a lifetime last year, thanks to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/cancunsailing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Canc\u00fan Sailing Catamarans<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Built in Milwaukee, WI, in the 1990s, the ship represents a fully functioning model of a historic schooner that would have navigated the Great Lakes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019re holding our first Sofar show aboard the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Denis Sullivan <\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sofarsounds.com\/events\/56712\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on July 13<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">! This is a perfect location if you love the hustle and bustle of the city and want to be even <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">closer<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to Broadway\u2019s many theaters. They\u2019ve hosted over 20 Sofars in their sweet little backyard in Denver, most recently in September 2023 with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iammachetemouth.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Machete Mouth<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sofarsounds.com\/artists\/jordin-dearinger\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jordin Dearinger<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sofarsounds.com\/artists\/schama-noel\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Schama Noel<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The Bodecker building has outdoor green space everywhere you look, with patches on each of the upper levels and wide seating areas on the ground floors. The building is composed of two existing warehouses that were cut into, modi\ufb01ed, remixed, and fused together. There\u2019s also a performance hall <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">an indoor skate park.
