It\u2019s an eclectic mix of new and old psychedelic rock, indie folk, and sounds from the local Lebanese music scene. Hear the playlist, and learn a little bit more about Mohamad. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Sofar: Do you have a creative outlet outside Sofar?<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mohamad: I\u2018m a graphic designer, and for me design is not just a job, but rather a beautiful scope to see life through. Also, I play guitar, along with some keyboard. Nothing really tops the beautiful feeling of jamming along with some friends.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>What drew you to curating shows?<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I have [had] a thing for organizing events ever since I was young. It’s an incredible mix of cultures and sounds, from the traditional Arabic music to indie rock, electronic beats, and experimental sounds. What makes Beirut truly special is the way these different musical genres and cultural influences coexist, and often, merge.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Thoughts on a couple standout tracks?<\/b><\/h4>\n<h4><b>Daft Punk | \u201cThe Game of Love\u201d<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe Game of Love\u201d is everything I love in electronic music; the flow, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/4tZwfgrHOc3mvqYlEYSvVi?si=QVcaNVU3RGmkhOrYhahe6w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Daft Punk<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sound, the melodies, all while being so ahead of its time when released. [I] really love this one.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>\u201cBad Timing\u201d | Faraj Suleiman<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cBad Timing\u201d\u00a0 takes me to a beautiful place in my mind. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/081FrpTgjmgvEy78DZOcpu?si=d_9OTma1SFehfkFcUPPZ8A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Faraj Suleiman<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s music is the type that emotions can easily connect to.
