Artists We Love"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the great U.S. Capital (and just outside of it), we\u2019ve got some outrageously talented artists sharing their work. Let\u2019s just cut right to it, here are five Washington D.C. based artists we love.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>1. Cramer <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Let\u2019s ease into this with the serene sounds of <strong>Cramer<\/strong>. The artist gave us this smooth, delicate performance of \u201cWash It Away\u201d, which has such an earthy feel to it, maybe from the watery keys, or the warm guitar, or just the grounding goodness of Cramer\u2019s voice. However it comes together, it\u2019s working.<\/p>\n<div><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CXfqAnuw6RQ\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h2><strong>2. Be Steadwell <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We are big fans of <strong>Be Steadwell<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sofarsounds.com\/blog\/articles\/meet-be-steadwell-best-of-the-listening\">and even got the chance to chat a little bit last year<\/a>). The D.C. artist is firing on multiple creative cylinders\u2014a filmmaker, composer, and a storyteller, bringing her skills to songs that mesh beatboxing, loops, and precise hooks. The rapper\u2019s been gaining some traction, with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CRuKGRGBwV7\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent song feature in a Steph Curry commercial<\/a>, her LP <em>Goodmorning, Goodnight<\/em>, and her recent show <em>19<\/em>, an autobiographical performance chronicling her experience as a Nigerian immigrant, and journey through her music career. Luke James Shafer\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The D.C. singer\/songwriter <strong>Luke James Shafer<\/strong> got a knack for the kind of Americana folk that\u2019s got an urgency to it, the kind of songs you gotta hear through til the last note. Weekend Plans <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Lastly, we gotta mention our D.C. neighbors, <strong>Weekend plans<\/strong>, who\u2019re based in Richmond, VA.
