I can listen to it in almost every situation during my day, from cleaning the house, singing and dancing with the broom to just letting it in the background while having some friends over! 10/10!

Can you describe your music style in six words?

Post Brazilian Popular Music Indie Rock.

Name an accomplishment you are most proud of.

Can I say two of them? First was back in 2019 when concerts were happening in Brazil (they´re coming back but slowly around here), I was nominated by Rolling Stone Brazil as one of the best concerts of the night in the Bananada Festival along with many Brazilian artists that I really admire.

And the second one is having almost 2 million plays on “Apesar de querer” music videoclip in which I directed, acted and recorded entirely from home in the beginning of 2020. For that one, I wanted to make it as accessible as possible, so I learned, with the help of my great teacher, Polly, to interpret the song in Libras – the Brazilian sign language.

What are you working on right now?

I am not allowed to share anything yet… But there is something coming this year.

Are there any specific albums or artists that have had a big influence on your music career and style?

For sure! Brazilian music is huge and very rich and I carry with me many of its artists like Gilberto Gil, Rita Lee, Gonzaguinha and plenty of others. Talking about albums in specific I’ll let you with one of my Gilberto Gil’s favorites albums, Extra.

Dream collaboration and why?

There are a lot of new artists which I’d love to collaborate with! I am very much into Hope Tala’s songs, she was a great discovery to me and she has the presence of the acoustic guitar very deep in her songs. I think that if we had the opportunity to work together, something beautiful would happen!

If you could play a Sofar show anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you want it to be?

Can I say all over the world? Haha. I think I’d choose London, because it was where everything began.

Who are three rising artists you’re excited about right now?

Alright, just three then: I’m currently in love with: Pip Millet, Aaron Frazer, (his solo career and as the drummer from Durand Jones and the Indications) and Ginger Root! I’d love to see them live. I’d love to also recommend the work of two Brazilian artists that I really admire: Marina Sena and Liniker. Incredible work and talent, they are must-sees!

In the mood for some warm Brazilian tones? Rodrigo Alarcon’s got ‘em.
