Well, not<em> quite<\/em>, not without taking a look at a few of the exciting things happening for some of our Sofar alumni this month.<\/p>\n<p>1. We\u2019re getting a little ahead of the news on this one\u2014<strong>The Head and The Heart<\/strong>\u2019s new album <em>Every Shade of Blue<\/em> comes out on April 29th (with a few singles available to hear now). While we\u2019re anxious to hear the new album, we\u2019re also still hanging onto these flawless harmonies from the group\u2019s intimate Sofar in London. (Fun fact: the band met and formed through an Open mic in Seattle\u2014never underestimate who you\u2019ll meet by trying out something new.)<\/p>\n<div><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1SKOMeGL7Y8\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>2. Lake Street Dive is about to headline <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seriesfest.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SeriesFest<\/a> at the iconic Red Rocks amphitheater in Colorado. When he\u2019s not playing with the band, <strong>Akie Bermiss<\/strong> is sharing his own solo project. We got a chance to see him in action at Sofar NYC, playing a sweet little groover that may, or may not, be about aliens.<\/p>\n<div><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TJFNHZszc8I\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>3. Armani Swayze, aka <strong>Lola Ladae<\/strong>\u00b4, has a new single out, \u201cYou Deserve It\u201d, a sizzling R&amp;B track with a chorus that\u2019ll live in your head for the rest of the day. It\u2019s one of our favorites from the artist, alongside this Sofar Atlanta group singalong of \u201cB-O-O-T-Y\u201d.<\/p>\n<div><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/R-zIWUOTO7o\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>4. Getting your summer shows lined up? Any festivals on your calendar? A whole bunch of US festivals just announced their artists, and <strong>Rayland Baxter <\/strong>is playing quite a few, like Green River, Peach Tree, Fort Desolation\u2026.the list goes on (and can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.raylandbaxter.com\/shows\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>). \u200b\u200bIf you\u2019re not on the festival circuit this year, you can check out the artist\u2019s Sofar Los Angeles performance, a stripped down set dipped in reverb, perfectly preserved from 2015.<\/p>\n<div><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YNcBnUE3yqE\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>5. Oh, speaking of festivals\u2014anyone at Coachella this year? Did you get a chance to see alum <strong>Chelsea Cutler<\/strong> play her set? Last but not least, we\u2019re actually a little late on this, but <strong>Cinema of Excess <\/strong>recently released their warm and delicate new EP <em>Rooftops<\/em>. If you haven\u2019t yet gotten to it, now is the time.
