Read on for what brings him warmth and inspiration.<\/p>\n<div><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MfFNyZXJalc\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h2><strong>What\u2019s your go-to album at the moment?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><em>TAPE 2\/FOMALHAUT<\/em> [by] Berwyn.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Can you describe your music style in six words?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Fresh, forgiving, motivational, edgy, rebellious.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Name an accomplishment you are most proud of.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>It\u2019ll have to be the Island Stage, which is a platform that I helped to create, dedicated to emerging, Caribbean talent and bridging the gap into the international music scene. We partnered up with SXSW, virtually this year, for the first ever stage and it was such a success that they’ve committed to an annual, physical stage for the event in Texas, every year. The Great Escape in the UK and Music Matters in Singapore, have also come on board, so it\u2019s very encouraging and I\u2019m really proud and excited to see it all grow in the years to come.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What are you working on right now?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Right now I\u2019m working on a new project for myself, taking some time to develop my sound, which I\u2019m really excited about. I\u2019ve also been working with other artists on their projects, helping them to find their sound, which has been a really refreshing experience for me, because it helps to expand my musical ear and takes me out of my comfort zone, which is extremely necessary for growth within the art form.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Are there any specific albums or artists that have had a big influence on your music career and style?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Im influenced by so much music but two albums would be <em>Chronology <\/em>[by] Chronixx, and<\/p>\n<p><em>Wild Heart <\/em>[by] Miguel.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Dream collaboration and why?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Kalpee x Chronixx would be a fireeee collaboration.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>If you could play a Sofar show anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you want it to be?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Probably Sweden, because I love working on anything to do with music over there.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Who are three rising artists you\u2019re excited about right now?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Annalie Prime, Xavier Edwards, Kaz Fuego, all young artists from Trinidad and Tobago.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sofarsounds.com\/\">Catch Kalpee and other incredible artists at a Sofar show near you!<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How can something literally sound like sunshine?
