This month comes to us from the team in La Plata, Argentina, the vibrant university city and capital of the Buenos Aires Province, where a diverse collective of music lovers has been hosting shows for six years. Dreamy bossa nova, laid-back rock\u2014 hear the full playlist below, and learn a little more about the LA Plata team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sofar: Name and Location?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>La Plata Team: <\/strong>We are Sofar La Plata, a team made up 100% by volunteers. We have a stable team of ten people learning to carry out this project collaboratively, relying on our families, friends and new friends we make on the way. Our team is pretty diverse. On the crew you can find an engineer, a graphic designer, a computer scientist, or even a pizza master. What brings us together is the love for music, [and] the desire to create the atmosphere to gather and share with people who appreciate music and art as much as we do.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What drew you to curating shows?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>From Ale (Camera, edition &amp; city leader): <\/strong>The main thing for us is to merge. Create a space where mystery and surprise create an atmosphere without preconceptions and conditionings. Where the artist, team, host, and public come with an open mind to enjoy and connect with the present moment and the sound.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sofarsounds.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/1665179724featuredimage.avif\" \/><span class=\"sc-kpOJdX jVJdyv\">Sofar La Plata, photo by Sofar team<\/span><strong>What\u2019s your favorite thing to do in your city?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>From<\/strong> <strong>Fede M (Camara and edition staff, team\u2019s chef): <\/strong>La Plata is a university city. Due to that there are many houses that work as cultural centers where you could always find art performances of any kind. I like to go out on the weekends and discover new places, find some music gigs or different kinds of art expressions. Also, walks in nature reserves or sailing on the river.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s something special about your city only locals might know?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>From<\/strong> <strong>R\/\/ Nico G (camera &amp; edition staff, DOP, celuloid\u2019s fan): <\/strong>La Plata is the capital of Buenos Aires state, is recognized for its numbered streets, green spaces located all over the city, futbol teams, universities, and also by its layout\u2014 the whole city is also known as \u201cDiagonals\u2019 city.\u201d But its cultural importance is also recognized for being the cradle of many well-known artists, either by birth or by academic training.
