With hundreds of shows around the world each month, countless memorable moments happen at Sofar. Here are just a few of the special shows we put on in the past few weeks!
Sofar Odense celebrated its second anniversary with an all day celebration in Hollufgård, an outdoor area near forests and rivers. In true Danish style, wood fired outdoor hot tubs were involved! The day included performances from local stomp group Heartbeat, female duo She Said, Norwegian folk singer Tone, Aurora, 15-year-old Asta Gaustad and The Millenials. The team also led improv icebreakers and a treasure hunt in the forest, helping everyone make a new friend that day! Guests later enjoyed music from the comfort and warmth of the outdoor hot tubs.
In a nod to The Big Lebowski and a vintage Cleveland, Sofar Cleveland hosted their latest show at retro bowling alley The Nash on East 80th, an old Slovenian party hall that’s a step back in time. The acts (Thor Platter Trio, William Hinson, Claudio Parrone Jr., ALäZ) all set up on the lanes for their sets. The night was full of strikes and no gutterballs!
Denver celebrated their first backyard show of the year with a good ol’ fashioned pajama party. Guests, artists and the Sofar team suited up in their footie onesies and comfiest PJs for a Sunday afternoon show. Listening to sets from Brianna Straut, Sarah Slaton of Edison and Darling West was definitely better than just staying in bed!
Sofar Hong Kong teamed up with annual street art festival HKwalls for a show at their festival HQ. HKwalls promotes originality and freedom of expression in the street art culture in Hong Kong, which is definitely something we can get behind. The show had performances from longtime Sofar fave Reeps One, Tennyson King and mredrollo.
