Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is a historic American city known as “The City of Brotherly Love,” and our local Sofar team takes this to heart! They’re bringing art and music to all corners of the city, so we've got Sofar Philly leader Carolyn sharing some of her favorite secret spots with us. Bonus: take a listen to some of her favorite Sofar Philly alumni below!
“Tucked away in South Philly, Magic Gardens is a little pocket of one of the coolest mosaic art pieces you’ll find.”
“Walking into the building from the outside, you’d never think you’re about to walk into one of the coolest converted church spaces. Fleisher is an amazing spot offering art classes and more for the community, and generally just a really cool spot. They also host Sofars!”
“One of our favorite spots in the city. They may have a long history of music, but they also always have a great selection of beers from around the globe, not to mention the frozen cocktails. They have some of the best BBQ in the city, and the home of the ‘Big Ass Biscuit’.”
“If you’re into any kind of weird medical stuff, this is the place for you! A plethora of body parts in jars, the skeleton of the tallest man, the largest colon, endless drawers of things people swallowed, the list goes on.”
“You’ve probably seen La Colombe’s coffee everywhere, but they’re headquartered here in Philly. The coolest spot you can grab coffee (we recommend the Draft Latte…yes that’s an iced latte on draft) is their Fishtown location, which also houses their test kitchen.”
