Zalali

Zalali is a budding Nairobi-based singer and songwriter who holds a distinctively deep tonal voice. She purposefully delved into her passion for music during the Covid-19 pandemic. She then released her first feature EP dubbed ‘RUDI’ with co-creator OlengKingi. Zalali describes her sound as energy in motion, forever moving with her spirit. She treasures tapping into different genres, styles, and harmonies to captivate the soul of her listeners. That said, she likes to have fun in her music as well and considers herself somewhat of a shapeshifter. Zalali's writing is drawn from her perspective of life’s lessons. It’s heavily influenced by music from the late 90s and early 2000s and inspired by creatives such as Khadja Nin, Aaliyah, Mpho Sebina, Serro, and Evanescence. Zalali started her live performance journey under the creative group Spellcast Media and progressed into doing live background vocal work for talents such as Maryolive Mungai, Charisma, and Nikita Kering. She continues her learning as a student at the Kenya Conservatoire of Music and is eager to connect with more music lovers on her journey!
