Young Monarch

Performed in Sofar Liverpool, Manchester, Bath, London and Winchester

Drawn from the sunny shores of Jersey, Gibraltar and small towns across the UK, 6 young people with a passion for music and songwriting congregated in the UK's most iconic musical city, Manchester. Having to deal with change, independence and living far away from home, Young Monarch's music sheds light on the emotional vulnerability of young people and the trials and tribulations faced when growing up. With powerful female vocals, delicate violin hooks and driving guitar parts, Young Monarch create explosive and emotional 'pop with an edge'. Combining their classical, contemporary and jazz backgrounds this young 6 piece create a fresh take on today's indie-pop scene that stands them apart from their Mancunian counterparts. Playing many venues throughout manchester including deaf institute, night and day, sound control and a recent tour around Amsterdam. With national and international airplay on shows such as Radio-X, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio; the band have received nothing but good reviews! 'An interesting band coming out of manchester, bringing technical musicality to the mainstream' - John Kennedy (Radio X) 'An engaging blend of ambient sounds, classical instruments and soulful vocals that truly captivates and serves to distinguish the band’ - Music gigs n' things 'Witnessing all the best elements of indie and alt-rock...
