26-year-old Spanish-American singer-songwriter Victoria Canal creates soul-stirring, emotive pop music. Canal credits her international upbringing with fostering her love for a nomadic life in music. A proud "third culture kid," she has lived in cities including Shanghai, Tokyo, Amsterdam, London, Dubai, Atlanta, New York, and Fort Worth, and embraces her identity as a queer, limb-different, mixed-heritage woman. In 2022, Canal released her EP Elegy, which explored themes of grief and death. The EP featured the single "Swan Song," which Chris Martin of Coldplay hailed as "one of the best songs ever written." The song was performed live on Later… with Jools Holland, appearing alongside artists such as Self Esteem and The 1975. Her Ivor Novello Award-winning sister song "Black Swan" features on her 2023 EP WELL WELL, in which Canal turned the lens inward. The EP earned acclaim from The New Yorker, The Observer, The Times, NME, BBC Radio 1, and more. Years in the making, Canal has been busy writing and recording her debut album, Slowly, It Dawns, pushing her sonic boundaries to create her most far-reaching and expressive music to date. The album was released on 17th January under Parlophone Records Ltd.
Victoria Canal has performed in Sofar NYC and Sofar London.
