Tom Gill

Originally from Salford, Tom Gill is an award winning spoken word artist, singer-songwriter and actor featured on the BAFTA winning 'Life and Rhymes' (Sky Arts) ​ Tom has performed on eclectic stages from Latitude and Lovebox Festivals, to Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club as well as televised commissions for Channel 4 and Sky. Known for his intricate lyricism, clever wordplay, and raw performance, Tom developed his style as a resident artist at Camden’s Roundhouse, later being crowned the UK Poetry Slam Champion. His debut solo project ‘Growing Pains’ commissioned by the Battersea Arts Centre was published in 2018 by Playdead Press. "As fresh and original as they come" (Reviews Hub ★★★★★) this groundbreaking show sold out the Edinburgh fringe festival, before transferring to the Royal Exchange Theatre and embarking on two UK tours. Tom's 'Beth Green' featured on Life and Rhymes Series 2 on Sky Arts notching up millions of views across social media. His viral response to the 'All Lives Matter' hashtag in support of Black Lives Matter also reached over half a million views, being featured on BBC Radio Manchester and performed live at the Young Vic Theatre. His poetry can also be found in 'Hidden in Chaos' published by Trope. ​ Reflecting on modern love and loss, Tom released his debut EP 'Shake The Taste' in 2021; an indie/acoustic album recorded during the UK lockdown, featuring tracks Right Wing Stunner, Normal People and Your Son.
