Thesaurus Rex was started in 2022 by writer/singer/sweetie-pie Calvin Rezen with the help of Berklee classmate, Varun JhunJhunwalla on lead guitar, audio engineer and session drummer Dan MacDonald, and jazz virtuoso Ethan Marsh on the bass. We are often complimented on our eclectic musical style, our clever and comedic lyrics, and our energetic stage presence. Our sense of humor and our narrative lyrics have earned us more than 17,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. We've have played such NY venues as Brooklyn Made, The Sultan Room, Our Wicked Lady, Mercury Lounge, Rockwood Music Hall, Silver Lining Lounge and more. We were recently honored to be in the Top 2 Bands of Our Wicked Lady's Winter Madness Battle of the Bands.
