The Grautet

Performed in Sofar NYC

The Grautet was formed by bassist and bandleader in 2011 while attending Queens College for his master of the arts in jazz performance. Originally, this quartet meant to test out compositions and homework assignments. Upon graduation and discovery of such sounds as Snarky Puppy, Allen Stone, D'Angelo, and Lettuce, The Grautet changed its tune from swing band, to R&B. The debut alum 'The Graushua Tree,' is the bands first mark in the wonderful world of instrumental groove. With the addition of words, voice, and piano style of St. Louis native Pete Ayers, the band is creating its own sound characterized by dense harmonies, pocket grooves, and catchy melodies. The Grautet: on the forefront of back-beat
