The Flabbies, founded in 2015 in Istanbul by childhood friends Oguz Kont and Sarp Daglar Sahin, emerged after collaborating on various projects for over a decade. Their debut single "Gentrification" in 2015, followed by a distinct 3-song EP, introduced a novel sound to Turkey's music scene. Following the EP "2015," they revealed their album "Back in Town," featuring 7 tracks that garnered considerable media attention, leading to live performances and guest appearances on various programs. In 2016, their track "Afterclap" accompanied a commercial video with FIAT, increasing their exposure. Their single "Turkish" in 2018 expanded their global reach. Adapting during the pandemic, they produced "Under the Sun," their first remotely recorded single in 2020. Building on this momentum, they embarked on a new album journey in late 2021. Transitioning to a trio in 2022 with Can Sürmen on drums, The Flabbies introduced "Jungle" in April 2022, marking a new chapter, followed by their second album “ALIVE”, a genre-bending fusion of disco, shoegaze, and psychedelia. From intimate venues to big festival stages and with a new EP on the horizon before their European Tour, The Flabbies continue to invite music lovers everywhere to join them on their journey, evolving their dynamic sound with each performance.
The Flabbies has performed in Sofar Ankara.
