Stanley Sibande Music is a solo project that was started by Stanley sibande in 2014. His performance style is melancholic, raw and attention grabbing. His ensemble consists of only his voice and acoustic guitar. Stanley is based in Cape Town, South Africa but he initially started his journey in his home country of Zambia where
he pursued music for 2 years before moving down to SA in February of 2019 in pursuit of a much broader and more accepting music scene. Some of his influences include Hozier, Breaking Benjamin, Kings of Leon, Linkin park, Bastille, Jaymes Young, James Arthur, Matthew Mole, etc. Stanley has been a musical person from a tender age but he was driven to do the music he does today by the likes of B.B King, Chris Martin, Adele, muddy waters, jimi Hendrix, Chester Bennington, just to mention a few.
Stanley Sibande has thus far graced the stages of fine establishments across the Copperbelt such as; Angelina’s Bistro, Bar & Pizzeria, Cherry Farm, Jacks Pub & Grill, The Hut and he has also been hosted on the weekly Sun fm radio show the Rock Sessions Presenters and has also performed at Art related events such as the Versatility of (IM)possibilities which was held twice in 2017 in Ndola and Kitwe. While in Cape Town, he has also graced the stages of venues such as The Alma Café, TrenchTown, The Striped Horse, The V&A Waterfront Ampitheatre, The Company Botanical Gardens, The Scary Canary, Barleycorn Music Club just to mention a few. He also embarked on a 10 day tor up the Garden route from the June 27th to July
7th That went through quite a few towns including Knysna, Wilderness, Mossel bay, Barydale, Montagu, Robertson and Mcgregor.
