Somogyi is an indie-pop artist out of Denton, TX. Her artist name is actually her last name, chosen as her artist name for it’s unique individuality, being a fairly uncommon name in the U.S. and representing her Hungarian nationality and familial heritage. She writes and sings all of her own music and also performs with an amazing band of talented musicians in the DFW metroplex. She still likes the opportunity to play intimate acoustic performances as a soloist, but says that if you haven’t seen a full band set of hers it’s also worth your while. Drawing from artists like Maggie Rogers, Portishead, The XX, Sylvan Esso, Banks, and more, Somogyi’s music is inspired by all types of genres from pop, indie, rock, and hints of jazz and shoe-gaze.
