Serafia (pronounced -sah-rah-fee-yah) is a world-class vocalist who seamlessly fuses the intricacies of jazz, blues and soul into her own style she coins as "Velvet Smoke." Her smooth, rich vocal texture and surgical delivery is her signature, yet her vocal range surpasses 4 and a half octaves! Serafia brings a type of class and sophistication reminiscent of music from an earlier era...with her own personal touch. Standing at a statuesque 6'1, Serafia's unique take on jazz and the blues along with her genre-inspired originals give her a sexy, smooth, and powerfully alluring brand in the music industry...Serafia is as unique as her name. With a penchant for perfection, Serafia can also be found writing an arranging vocal parts in studio sessions and is frequently hired as a session vocalist by bands, groups and producers from a multitude of genres. Serafia's songwriting prowess has earned her placements on national TV, co-writing the theme song for the nationally televised reality series, Empire Girls; and also garnering interest for licensing and placements with major record labels including Sony and Atlantic Records. Serafia spent her time cultivating her musial artistry in Austin, Texas, and now resides in Los Angeles, California. She can be found frequently performing in U.S. cities such as L.A., San Diego, San Francisco, New Orleans, Chicago, Austin, New York City, Las Vegas and more!
