Samantha Lindo

Performed in Sofar Bristol and London

Samantha Lindo is a British vocal artist based in Bristol, UK, bringing together a fusion of soul, UK jazz and trip-hop to create a style that’s not easily box-able. Coined as Etta James meets Kate Tempest, her vocal delivery holds the possibility for both a depth and effortless soaring and her words burn with a truth that is so needed in the cultural moment we find ourselves in. Produced by Bristol heavyweights DJ Bunjy (Laid Blak) and Chris G, she is part of the wave of emerging UK Jazz artists such as Celeste, Ezra Collective and Yasmin Lacey but also takes influence from the soul and indie pop of Michael Kiwanuka, Tom Misch and spoken word of Loyle Carner. Recently featured on the BBC Sounds Hot List, Bristol Post said that she has a voice that is ‘hauntingly flawless’, ‘having crowds mesmerised within seconds’ and Nitelife magazine describes how, by ‘weaving poetry’ and ‘beautiful lyricism through her songs’, Samantha presents some ‘very raw and real issues about love, life and the human condition’
