Run Pussy Run is an award-winning collaborative “freak funk psycho punk” project led by singer-songwriter Gowri Jayakumar. RPR played ten songs for Kappa TV’s Music Mojo program in 2015, and later went on to win $10,000 with the Project Aloft Star amplified by MTV Asia award. RPR used the money to travel to Nagaland and won the “Best Songwriting” award at Hornbill International Rock Contest. After a brief break, the project has come together again to work on new material. Cheeky lyrics, unpredictable rhythmic and harmonic journeys, and a devotion to undisturbed storytelling make up the core.
