With a cultural background spanning Spanish and Portuguese heritage, Rumia relocated to Berlin to pursue her musical aspirations and delve into the study of musical composition. Immersed in the vibrant Berlin music scene, her artistic vision has evolved, embracing synthetic and electronic textures while retaining the organic essence of piano and acoustic guitar. Rumia seamlessly integrates elements of pop and rock with organic instrumentation, showcasing her versatility and artistry. Rumia has performed with her band at renowned events and venues including Sofar Sounds, Radio3, La 2, Ciclo Km0 de Estrella Galicia, Open Folk, Fluxbau Berlin, and House of Music Berlin. Furthermore, her musical endeavors have garnered notable attention from both press and radio outlets such as Fritz Unsigned Germany, Radio 3, and RTVE Spain, as well as platforms like Earmilk, Stereofox, and Jenesaispop, among others. Her creative vision is informed by a diverse array of influences, ranging from 90s genres like Trip Hop to contemporary pop sensations such as Wolf Alice and Mazzy Star, Radiohead, Wolf Alice, The xx, Mazzy Star, Beabadoobe and Phoebe Bridgers. Currently based between Berlin and Madrid, Rumia is diligently crafting her second album, slated for release in Autumn 2024, promising an exciting continuation of her musical journey.
