Rivita

Originally from India, Rivita is a singer-songwriter and producer. She writes and produces her music herself, frequently collaborating with musicians from around the world. 
She studied Popular Music Performance at Tech Music Schools, now known as BIMM, London. While at University, she formed a band and started performing her original music around the city of London. She proceeded to study a Masters program in Composing for Film and TV at Kingston University, London. After finishing her studies in London, Rivita started self-producing and releasing her songs and making music videos. Her music videos have been screened at film festivals across the globe, she was awarded the Indian Music Video Award for her music video “Listen”. She moved to the US in 2017 to study an MA in Audio Arts at Syracuse University, during the program she was selected to go to South Africa and run audio on the "Syracuse to Makhanda" Project, here she recorded the music of local artists in a hotel conference room calling this "The Traveling Studio". The Traveling Studio was selected as an outstanding nomination at the Creative Conscious Awards in 2018. 
Her single “Someone Else’s Arms” has been described as “glimmering electro pop rock with hints of soul” by Rolling Stone, India and was made the song of the month by BBC London’s Sunny and Shay show. In 2020, she authored the book "The Composer Cave Challenge", and in 2021 she was invited to the NEXT program by The Recording Academy Los Angeles Chapter. "Ankh Maare" a song she co-composed has appeared in Netflix TV shows "The Fame Game" and "Indian Matchmaking". She is a member of The Recording Academy, The Society of Composers and Lyricists and The Alliance of Women Film Composers. She frequently mentors students through GrammyU and Soundthinking NYC.
