Rita Castagna is a singer-songwriter from Philadelphia. With backgrounds in musical theater and jazz, her music and lyrics are story-forward and multi-layered. A lifelong acoustic performer, she is slowly building up a full band and a louder, funkier sound to match her large belty voice. Her biggest musical influences are Sammy Rae, Lake Street Dive, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lizzy McAlpine. Equipped with a standup comedian’s combo of humor and sadness, her music reflects her oscillation between resilient joy and cancerian melancholy.
