Quoyah

Shequoyah Wilson, also known as "Quoyah", has held a passion for singing probably since she was in her mama's belly in New Jersey. Hypnotized by the soulful melodies of Anthony Hamilton, John Legend, Mary J. Blige and Coldplay played by her parents every Sunday while they cleaned their Virginia home, Quoyah learned that she could sing with these legends CDs to fill little moments of her day with joy, beauty and excitement. Her grandmother noticed her gift and nurtured it in her by making Quoyah sing in front of her church in East Orange, NJ. Though terrifying at such a young age, it taught a valuable lesson of having confidence and faith in her abilities in the face of fear. As a young adult in college at VCU, Quoyah discovered the realities of music creation and how it wasn't this untouchable fairytale she believed to be true- she could reach out and grab it. Right this moment. And she did. After releasing her first single, 'Deuce' in February 2019, Quoyah has been creating music and collaborating with different talented producers in Virginia including Tyler Saki, Diego Lainez, Legend8ry Productions, Ralph and Hazelgrove. Quoyah works mainly as a songwriter/singer but also dabbles as a producer and engineer. Her producing and engineering work can be found in songs: 'Power in Vulnerability' (produced only), Lavender and 'Say It Wit Love' (engineered only). Quoyah's style could be known as jazzy affirmative soul music with a few hints of R&B, Reggae, Gospel, and Light Rock. Take a peek inside her world :)
