Patrick McCallion started his musical career in the pubs and clubs of West Yorkshire, England and has most recently been fronting London based alternative rock outfit The New Nostalgia. During the COVID lockdowns, McCallion returned to his roots, recording a series of lo-fi acoustic tracks from his home studio in The Netherlands. The first collection of these tracks titled June was released in support of the Black LGBTQIA Therapy Fund and is available to download via Bandcamp. Debut EP “Keep Smiling.” was released back in 2018. With tracks produced by David M. Allen (The Cure, Depeche Mode, Human League) and mastering from Pete Maher (Jack White, U2, Lana Del Rey), it has been described as “a must for any lover of better pop and rock… somewhere Billy Bragg is smiling and giving him the thumbs up”. “One of the UK’s finest songwriters” – IndieMusicMag “Rawness that grabs you by the throat.”- Chaos Music Magazine “A future classic!” – Jammerzine “He comes up with very clever melodies and sings them with the conviction of a young Elvis Costello.”- Rootstime “Keep Smiling has character, a little bit of anger and just the right amount of raw debauchery to make it a very tasty snack for the rock fanatic.” – Lluid
Patrick McCallion has performed in Sofar Utrecht and Sofar Amsterdam.
