Nicoh Kwan is a vocalist, composer, and producer. Her dynamic tone, impeccable control, and variety of vocal styles has been lent to numerous artists—such as Jorge Cajias, Gonzalo Eyzaguirre, and Elk Song—as well as her own creations. Meanwhile, her compositions and productions are refreshingly inspired, combining a multitude of musical influences, from Latin pop and indie folk, to math rock and punk. Kwan is an ambassador of the non-profit organization Songs for World Peace, and is the sole representative of Costa Rica. In 2022, she worked for World Singing Day with its founder, Scott Johnson, as the arranger and producer of the song that year, “Sing With Me,” for their annual “World Singing Day” celebration every fall. She had previously worked with Johnson as a vocalist and arranger for his own song “I Don’t Know Why” off of his album, “Me, You, and All of Us.” Furthermore, she was recruited by Beatz By Girlz to develop a curriculum to teach youth femme students in the metropolitan Boston area. In 2017, she graduated from Berklee College of Music with Summa Cum Laude as a dual major—in Contemporary Writing & Production (CWP), and Music Production & Engineering. During her studies, Kwan was also the Production Chair & Timpanist of the Neapolitan Orchestra. Moreover, she was in the Celtic/Cape Breton trio Donnelly, with whom she toured throughout Arizona, US. Since meeting frequent collaborator Alper Tuzcu while both studying in Berklee Valencia for one year, they continue to perform and produce various projects—their largest to-date being a full length album titled “Nicoh & Alper,” with an anticipated release in late 2023. Kwan currently works full-time at her alma mater, assisting students and faculty in most of the college’s music technology-heavy majors, such as Film Scoring, Electronic Production & Design, CWP, and the newly developed Game & Interactive Media Scoring major.
