Mwendamberi (Solution GC)

Zimbabwean recording and performing musician, songwriter, instrumentalist, music producer, and actor, Godfrey Chirau AKA Mwendamberi formerly known as Solution GC, sings to inspire social change and bring families together. He has always displayed lyrics that teach and connect people with their African traditions and cultures. He sings to educate people about Children's rights, GBV, mental health, and other social issues and is recognised for his genre-melding musicianship and global influence in modern-day Afro-fusion (Afro Jazz). He was discovered in 2012 by Ammara Brown daughter of the late Zimbabwean music Legend Andy Brown and later gained recognition with the release of his debut seven-track Album ‘Key Yangu’ (2013) which established him as a local teen idol. He is credited with 2 TGT winners certifications with his leading single from his first album ‘Key Yangu’ (2013-2014), 3 Times Radio Charts Power FM Top 10 Count Down with ‘Kuchema Kwemwanasikana’, ‘Vana Vechikoro’ and ‘Makandisiirei’ (2014 – 2017) which made him one of the first young musicians at the age of 14 to top the charts on Radio and TV in Zimbabwe. Mwendamberi was also groomed and nurtured by prominent Zimbabwean artist Trevor Dongo. He has shared the stage with Dr Oliver Mtukudzi, Aleck Macheso, Jah Prayzah, and Mookomba among others. Mwendamberi has always displayed an astonishing stage presence either as a solo act or with his 8-man BravoMuzik Band which he formed in high school. With his soft melodious and husky voice coupled with his skills in playing the acoustic guitar, Mwendamberi is undoubtedly becoming one of the most recognised voices to emerge from Zimbabwe and onto the international scene. He sings in ChiShona as well as Ndebele and English. He also incorporated elements of different traditional musical instruments, giving his music a distinctive unique style. Mwendamberi has also toured across continents from Africa to Asia and Europe.
