Mikah Amani

Mikah Amani is a Black, trans, folk and indie singer/songwriter based in Miami, FL. 
 Mikah is drawn to folk and indie-folk musicians from all time periods, with his largest influences being artists such as Joan Baez, Nina Simone, and Sufjan Stevens. With intensely personal lyrics and a sound that is delicate, warm, and emotionally intense, he aims to bring his experiences with addiction, mental health, relationships, and love, in all its forms, to the forefront of his music. His debut project, Cabaret St. EP, is the most recent example of this medley of experiences coming to life. On the song Cabaret St., he speaks about how to find love after it has left you, and Fractured Bones/Move is the story of someone who reflects on their life after it has ended. This range of sentiments, this desire to actualize his emotions, and his ability to write intimate lyrics, is one of the things that makes Mikah’s music so raw and refreshingly human.
