Michael Blackwell

Michael Blackwell is a London-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer from County Durham, UK. Drawing from a range of influences, his sound combines classic singer-songwriter, 90’s grunge, 00’s indie and modern alt-pop. Learning guitar at a young age, Michael was inspired by his father's record collection, listening to the likes of Led Zeppelin, Cream, The Police and The Beatles. As he grew, he became obsessed with a lot of bands and artists from the 90’s, such as Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Soundgarden, Nirvana, and Stone Temple Pilots, cementing his love for guitar and classic songwriting. Michael has spent the last few years working with artists such as Louis Tomlinson, Amber Run, and Lewis Capaldi, embarking on his career as a solo artist in February last year. After a string of single releases and with early support from Clash, Notion, Wonderland and BBC Introducing, among others, Michael released his debut EP 'A Trip Around The Sun' in October, followed by successful first headline tour in Europe and the UK.
