Marie Dance and The Purple Shoes

Marie Dance and The Purple Shoes are a Folk/Rock band from Brighton, UK. Regularly preforming original material ranging from Rock, Country/Rock, Folk and Americana. With their deep acoustic rhythms, honest and raw lyrics and catchy heartfelt melodies they have toured the UK and Ireland. The band had critical acclaim for their debut album ‘Small Town Fairy Tales’ and they recently released their second album 'January Sun' in the summer of 2022 with reviews in Mojo and Fatea Magazine and sold out tickets to their album launch in there home town. Marie Dance has fronted many bands since her time in Thailand fronting rock band The Tonic rays between 2005 and 2008, She recorded her first Album with The Tonic Rays back in 2007 which reached number 6 in the American billboard charts for album of the year. She continued to form bands and compose music when she returned to the UK in 2008 and has recorded 5 original albums to date. The Purple Shoes formed in 2013 and have built a local following from the ground up and continue to record new music to be released in the spring of this year. The Band are now booking venues and festivals for the summer of 2024 to spread good vibes and uplifting music, they will carry you along with the sheer fun they have on stage together. Marie is also a solo artist in her own right playing with just her acoustic guitar and her voice singing songs about love and life and holding onto what you believe in. She also performs as a duo with Double bass player Richard Dadson or as Marie Dance and the Purple Shoes which is her full band line up. Along with her band Marie has become an established performer and has sold out local music venues, They have performed at many smaller festivals across the UK since 2015 Such as Small World festival and Cambridge folk festival. Marie Dance and The Purple Shoes share thoughts, dreams and small town fairy tales
