LLSN

LLSN is a cinematic and captivating independent artist known for soulful and immersive live performances. LLSN's music fuses the songwriting styles of Leonard Cohen, Gregory Alan Isakov and Damien Jurado with the cinematic touch of Hans Zimmer and Thomas Newman. The result is a blend of lyrical and musical world building that captivates the listener The story: LLSN has been writing and performing music for over 15 years and spent 5 years entertaining crowds as a cover artist, while collaborating with bands as a music video director. With a back catalogue of unreleased material, he began 2020 supporting Glass Peaks at a sold out show in St Pancras Old Church, preparing to commit five years of material to record. These plans ground to a halt as the lockdown of 2020 began. L set up a small speaker and microphone in his room and began performing improvised songs to the voice recorder in his phone. Moving away from writing songs about retail work, breakups and the death of his Nan, he found a new style of performing emerging. Splitting time between supporting homeless adults in an ex-hotel and watching films at a local independent cinema, this new music blurred a line between fact, fiction and film. After buying a typewriter from ebay he began journalling from a fictional hotel, writing about characters past and present. The result is a collection of songs about an extended stay, knowing that once un-paused, the World and he, would be very different. 5 years on, L is preparing to bring a very different set of songs into the World. Recorded and produced by friend and collaborator Chris Matthewson (Franklyn Mansion, Bloody Tourist, Soft Sports) LLSN is performing solo and ensemble across the UK in preparation for releasing his debut album.
