Konoba

Raphael Esterhazy, known as Konoba, is an independant musician, songwriter and producer based in Belgium. He spent five years in London and Brighton studying music and working on his own compositions before returning to his native Belgium. He also recorded and produced music for a range of up and coming artists including Kevin Murphy, Time for T and the Common Tongues. Raphael released his first EP as Konoba in June 2011 (Miami Hotel ) with its follow-up, Mind the Gap , coming out in January 2012. His latest release, Colours & Shapes, came out in March 2013 and has already earned him a lot of praise with the first single 'I've Been Dreaming' winning 'Best Song', 'Best Music Video' and the 'Audience Award' at the London 48MVP. Konoba's influences are vast and varied but certainly his latest work is reminiscent of artists such as Alt-J and Gotye with its hard hitting and quirky use of beats and rhythms, while Radiohead and the Fleet Foxes provide inspiration for the softer and more sensual melody based sections.
