King Chima

The story of KING CHIMA is one that is surrounded by music from the beginning. Melodies escaped his lips long before words ever did, and his family can recall him writing songs before he really knew what he was doing. His passion for music gained intentionality as he grew. He began singing publicly at 15 in churches and choirs. By the time he graduated high school he was playing shows around his college town with childhood friend Darren Eubank. They soon formed the duo know as D and Chi. In the span of just under a decade, the duo toured all over the continent, opening for industry legends like Michael McDonald and Chaka Khan, and gaining a sizable following domestically and abroad. They shared stages with powerhouses like Ludacris, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Leon Bridges, Lionel Richie, and many others, and even had a run on the hit TV show American Idol. Their first album, Corners, released in 2016 and saw them signing their first distribution deal in 2017 for their single If U Are. This paved the way for many more successful singles including their most popular single Supernova. Unfortunately, in the midst of the pandemic, the group experienced the loss of Darren to COVID-19 complications on the eve of the release of their sophomore album And It Feels Like.
