KAZMS was, at first, simply a project with the aim of recording raw and emotive acoustic folk songs. However, it soon became something much grander as Irish singer songwriter Eoin Keely started to collaborate with electronic music producer Ciarán Byrne and traditional Irish musician Seán Ó Casaide. Their songs are a fusion of Keely’s raw story telling, Byrne’s other worldly sound design and Ó Casaide’s emotive piano hooks. Keely moved to Berlin three years ago without his bandmates and has been in hibernation, writing, recording and evolving as an artist. Backed by his acoustic guitar, his voice is a vessel for heartfelt, expressive lyrics. Songwriting and performing is a cathartic process for KAZMS. It is a tool for healing, personal growth and connection. The band mates' musical bond and friendship has endured in spite of the geographical distance between them. These days they write and record most of their songs by sending ideas back and forth online. The past two years have seen the release of a multitude of singles from KAZMS debut album FLOW, a collection of music videos funded by Initiative Musik Germany alongside Turkish visual artist Mahir Duman as well as shows in Berlin and Dublin.
