Juan D Toledo is a Chilean native and long-term Toronto resident who began playing rock music in the late 80s, touring with and opening for bands such as I Mother Earth and Jeff Healey and with Maiz Verde & Mistral. He studied jazz and East-Indian music and experimenting with gamelan guitar-playing before falling in love with flamenco music, which he studied under guitar master Miguel de la Bastide. He performed with Jesse Cook, the Carmen Romero Flamenco Dance Company, the Miguel de la Bastide
Flamenco Music Group and the Indiantouch Orchestra. He currently performs with dancer Maria Serrano (with singer Fernando Gallego) as well as with Santerias, SolAzul and the JDT Trio as well as composing music for TV and radio.
