Josh Vine

Josh Vine first arrived on the scene in 2018 with the release of his debut singles. His stellar vocal, atmospheric soundscapes and unique lyrical perspective marked him out as a singer-songwriter of impressive depth and captured instant attention from press and radio alike. His first three singles were all selected as “Track of the Week” from BBC Radio Introducing Shropshire. Whilst music press such as Clash Music enthused about Vine’s “Bold, brisk songwriting” and XS Noise calling him “authentically original”. Vine primarily writes and produces his own music although some of his early recordings were produced by Dani Castellar (Paolo Nutini, Iron Sky) who went on to mix his debut single “Lost in the City”. By the release of his fourth single “The Water” though in August 2019, with its driving guitars and soaring melodies, Vine showed he was an artist full of intent and confidence with an impactful and emerging sound. At his live shows, Vine performs with an intensity that captures audiences whenever he plays. His growing stature as a live performer is always underpinned by the songwriting and immense power of his voice. His vocal maturity seems to betray his young age. Originally from a rural part of the west midlands, but now living in London, Vine has stated that the first years of city life and his observation of its isolating and sometimes dehumanising effects informed much of his early writing. He cites acts such as Radiohead, Ben Howard and Bon Iver to be among some of his first musical influences, but Vine has managed to craft a sound that articulates his own perspective and artistry.
