Jill Beth is here to put her unique stamp of catchy Alternative Country Pop permanently on the international music landscape. So far 2014 has been a very busy year for this Brisbane based Singer Songwriter, who since releasing her debut EP ‘Don’t Let Go’ at the end of January, has already been Nominated for an American Songwriting Award and managed to secure a spot at this years Gympie Music Muster which was held in August. There is no doubt that Jill Beth has become the up and coming artist to watch. Her first single ‘Let You In’ has been warmly received by community radio stations throughout the country as well as airplay on the ABC radio network. Jill Beth’s ‘Don’t Let Go’ National tour kicked off with a sold out show at Brisbane’s Dowse Bar in May and has continued throughout the year having already performed shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Byron Bay and the Gold Coast, Jill is set to visit as much of the country as possible performing a variety of different shows from full band to acoustic solo gigs.
In early 2013 Jill enlisted Aria nominated producer/engineer Anthony Lycenko (Pete Murray/Busby Marou) and began pre production for her debut EP - ‘Don't Let Go’. "Having the opportunity to work with Anthony has been a really great experience. I initially contacted Anthony just looking for an engineer, but he was so genuinely enthusiastic and excited about my songs that it gave me the confidence to let someone else in on that creative process and we ended up producing the EP together”. With the help from her guitarist husband and longtime creative collaborator Jeff Harris, Brisbane based drummer Jacob Mann, bassist Chris Bosley and keyboardist Glen Brearley, "Don't Let Go" was recorded over a 10 day period in the Byron Bay hinterland in August 2013.
Performing with commitment and vitality comes naturally to this singer songwriter who has known singing to be part of her life from the time she could speak. Jill began learning guitar as a small child, later adding piano to her repertoire as her song writing skills began to flourish. Music genres such as Country, Folk and Pop all get bantered around when describing Jill Beth’s sound. This is due to the wide spectrum of music she immerses herself in, finding inspiration from songwriters such as John Mayer and Jason Mraz to Jackson Browne and James Taylor.
