“Stunningly lovely” - The Huffington Post James Walker is a multi-instrumentalist, artist, producer, and songwriter. His diverse, left-field and captivating music spans many genres and influences, while his distinct and deliberate narrative voice has caught the attention of many collaborators and creatives. A fiercely independent artist; James has booked more than 1,000 concerts for himself in over 15 countries, gaining 35m+ streams along the way, and gaining support from BBC Introducing and Arts Council England. He has recently partnered with 25 x GRAMMY nominated label Snafu Records (Sam MacPherson, RANI, Kevin Garrett), and will be releasing a new body of work with them in 2024. James Walker recently launched a collaborative project called Settling, with songwriter/producer Rain Adair (singer of MMX, Francesqa; toured with The Pretty Reckless, The 1975). These songs are an evocative and enthralling look at childhood trauma, recovering from addiction, and finding home. His new solo material features co-writes and collabs with artists such as Nathan Nicholson, PollyAnna, Judy Blank, Richard Walters, Cooza, and many more. James Walker is a queer, neurodivergent person who has overcome battles with addiction, mental health, substance abuse, trauma and, as a result of a rare blood-clotting disorder, underwent two open-heart surgeries at the ages of 14 and 21. He is now healthy, recovered, and is a strong advocate for music therapy, art as healing, and creating beauty out of the hardships that we have experienced.
