Jade Davidson is a self-taught singer/songwriter, guitarist, and music producer who describes her style as “bluesy grit” mixed with indie and jazz. For her, music has always been a way to transcend difficult emotions; she was 12 when she wrote her first song, about her brother’s struggle with depression. “Music was therapy and a friend to me,” she says. Jade’s family moved from Indianapolis to Aurora, Colorado, when she was in eighth grade. As a student at William Smith High School, she started performing music, playing at open mic nights at cafes, a Sofar Sounds show, and multiple shows at the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art. She took first place in the inaugural “Aurora’s Got Talent” competition, which led to local media attention and more shows. In 2019, for her senior class project, she recorded and produced her first single, “Can We Be Lovers?” Jade has written songs about love, lust, heartbreak, mental health issues and family issues such as divorce, addiction, abuse and codependency. Her writing style can be described as “observational, confessing and vulnerable”. As an artist, she has been influenced by Matt Corby, Prince, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Sly and the Family Stone, Jeff Buckley, Ben Howard, Nat King Cole, D’Angelo, and Alabaster Deplume.
Jade Davidson has performed in Sofar Denver and Sofar Indianapolis.
