Jack Shaw has been performing and songwriting since he was a teenager, playing in rock bands, hip-hop collectives and alone with his acoustic guitar.
The Newcastle native learnt guitar at 15, sparking a lifelong passion for playing live. His university band 'Dancing Lotus' toured extensively and supported artists including Ed Sheeran and Rizzle Kicks, but once Jack moved to London he decided to go it alone.
He then went on to support Multi Platinum Selling Newton Faulkner as well as collaborating with South East London’s BassN8s crew, including supersize rapper XO Man.
Since summer 2015 jack has spent time developing his Power Pop sound out in Berlin:
“The music I’m making now is a culmination of all the collaborations I’ve done over the years and music and musicians that have influenced me. When you listen to my songs you’ll hear elements of rock, rave, and urban sounds – I don’t define myself by genre but the music I’m making now definitely has a pop sensibility”.
Jack’s eclecticism is reflected in his musical tastes, with influences as diverse as Lauryn Hill, Mumford and Sons and Biffy Clyro. Most of the tracks on Jack’s EP (title TBC) were produced by veteran German producer Wim (Omi) in his Berlin studio.
“As soon as we met we just clicked, and I think the music reflects that”.
