Iyanah

Iyanah is a Nairobi based singer/songwriter, recording, and performing artist. She describes her style of writing as being as honest as her own journal entries and her sound as not being confined to any specific genre; but heavily influenced by what she grew up, or is currently listening to. Music has been a core element in her life for as long as she can remember and has actively been writing songs since a young age, before purposefully deciding to record and release her debut single "4U" in April of 2021. She then began her journey into live performance by doing acoustic renditions of her music at various shows such as the second 'TANGAZA and Friends' showcase while progressing into live background vocal work for local and international talent such as Xenia Manasseh, Maya Amolo, Vallerie Muthoni, Xtatic, and June Gachui; opening for Anthony Hamilton at the Stanbic Yetu Festival with the latter. From 2022 onwards she has released a string of successful singles and features (such as 'Lose' and 'Saviour' with friend and long time collaborator M.Rumbi) and steadily grown a local fanbase all while recording and gearing up for the release of her first project. She is undeniably a rising act to watch in the bubbling Kenyan music scene.
