My vision is to empower the South Asian community through my own confidence in accepting my identity and heritage. My writing focuses on empowerment, culture, mental health & history. Being born in the 90s in Britain while also having a South Asian heritage was tough at times & it took me almost 15 years to come to terms with both of these cultures. It wasn't easy because I was always confused & hid my south Asian culture, my roots & my identity. I was always ashamed of 'being brown' or smelling like curry & no amount of Charlie body spray would help mask the smell. But eventually, I was proud of showing where my family originated from. I was proud of who I was & where I came from. So I started writing poetry & short stories to mirror my pride and my roots. I then went on to study English & Creative Writing at university & my passion for storytelling grew immensely. I am now a self published author & spoken word artist & have performed at various events across the country including performances at Kohetry, BYOB, Poetry Jam and The Blank Canvas Society.
