Imogen Mahdavi returns with her third single “Crowd of Thoughts”, an epic track produced by Grammy Winner Eddie Serafica, who has worked with the likes of Hamzaa, James Bay, Buddy Guy and more.
The collaboration sees the London artist levelling up her sound for her first song of 2020, giving listeners a taste of what to expect from her debut EP later this year. On “Crowd of Thoughts” Imogen’s unique and rich vocals soar over nostalgic piano and synths, leading us through a beautiful piece of indie pop that is both wistful and freeing.
Imogen explains: “I wrote this song when I hit my peak of overthinking all of my decisions instead of going with my intuition. I wanted to overcome my anxiety, spend less time worrying about things which are out of my control and instead trust that my body would guide me through. I wrote this in a period of life for me which was testing my human spirit and just wanted to make a piece of music I could find comfort and hope in”
2019 was a fruitful year for Imogen. It saw her release her first two singles to acclaim from the likes of tastemakers such as i_D, who premiered the video of her debut track, and a Clash magazine feature. There was also support from Emily Pilbeam (BBC Radio Leeds). In June 2020 ‘Crowd of Thoughts’ made its hometown debut on BBC Radio London as she begins to pick up regular radio rotation. Sky is the limit for the talented singer-songwriter who also performed a lead role and penned the music for the hit UK nationwide play ‘Dressed’, with a live tv interview on ITV as well as opening up the sold out headline show for the tastefully smooth artist ‘Benedict Cork’ at Hoxton Hall in London.
